Students will not learn to live in a competitive world if schools use cooperative learning.

In a competitive world you must learn how to work together to be better and more productive with the task you are doing. Together everyone is more productive.

I agree, I think the opposite is true. In our world you better learn how to work cooperatively, and with people you may not get along with.

Students need motivation. Competition is just one way to motivate kids, even if they do not know what the certain prize is at the end.

I too think that kids and adults need to learn to work together to be more productive. Our world is becoming so Global with all of the technology that we have, that people are exposed to more different people in different cultures than ever before. Cooperative learning helps students "practice" what they will be doing in the real world.
